Who is eligible for membership?
NJYC welcomes all military members, retired, active,
or reserve, and civilian employees onboard NAS Jacksonville. Family members are also very welcome and the family membership
plan is highly encouraged. If you have access to the base due to military affiliation or employment, then you are probably
eligible.

Member responsibilities
The membership application includes a section containing
several areas of interest and expertise that the new member can select from. Our facility is owned and maintained by
the membership with no outside funding from the taxpayers, so its survival depend upon its members to contribute a small amount
of time cleaning and repairing the building and grounds. THERE IS NO MINIMUM REQUIREMENT OF EACH MEMBER. We simply
ask that everyone contribute based on individual schedules and capabilities.
There is a monthly club cleanup and
maintenance day, and is normally scheduled on the first Saturday of each month. This event is also announced in the
club news letter "Docklines", which is published at the beginning of each month. In addition to the scheduled
club clean up, available members sometimes gather to perform additional repairs and improvements throughout the month.
Membership meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at NJYC. Dinner is served at 6 pm at a cost
of $6 and the meeting begins at 7:30.
NJYC is a participating member of the First Coast Sailing Association.
We host Jacksonville area sailboat races throughout Spring and Fall, and members are needed to support these events.
It is tons of fun and if you are interested in sailing for recreation or as a competitive sport, you will be amazed at what
you can learn from these events. Our members serve as race officials, safety boat operators and crew, dock hands for
arriving and departing vessels, registration assistants, and hospitality services such as food preparation and assistance
with keeping the facility clean during these events.
NJYC is a membership organization, not a business, so member
participation is key to our mission and our ability to keep NJYC functioning into the future.

Benefits of membership
You will benefit in many ways by becoming a member of
NJYC. You will have access to the knowledge and experiences of a large community of boaters ranging from local fishing
enthusiasts to open ocean sailors, and every kind of boater in between. In partenership with club members, you can learn
boat repair procedures, safety and seamanship, sailboat racing, overseas sailing, and so much more. Also, as a member
you will be able to participate in any of our numerous social events including local raft ups on the water, boating trips
to nearby destinations, and events right at our club facility.
As a member, you will have access to the club facility
at all times, except when the facility is rented for a party. The club building has restrooms, television, soft drinks
for sale, and a huge ice machine. It is a great place to visit after getting off the water, on lunch break, or anytime
you want to sit around and relax on the beautiful NAS Jacksonville water front. We also have a large patio that overlooks
Mulberry Cove on the St Johns River. A copy of the NJYC bylaws will be available to new members to famliarize everyone
with the details of club house usage.
NJYC members can rent the entire club faciity for large parties and meetings
at a discounted rate, and Mulberry Cove Marina on NAS Jacksonville announces monthly discounts on products and services for
NJYC members.

Membership Dues and Costs
2011 annual
dues for NJYC members is $100 for a single membership, and $150 for the family membership. Membership dues are paid
at time of application for new members, and renewals are payable prior to January first for the new calendar year. With
a paid membership you will be provided a NJYC ID card and will have access to the facility and wireless internet key.
As membership dues are only a part of the revenue required to maintain our club, we encourage all members to participate,
based on their abilities, in fund raising events such as regattas, club dinners, yard sales and yard sale donations, and our
aluminum recycling program. We will provide all required information in advance of fund raisers through the club news
letter "Docklines" and on this website. We look forward to meeting you! Contact any board member through
the "Contacts" link to the left for more information, a personal meeting, or a tour of the facility.
